For more than 40 years, Paw’s Inn Kennel has been dedicated to the White Shepherd and to a simple belief: a truly wonderful dog should be more than beautiful. Founded by Rose Bible in the 1980s, Paw’s Inn was built from the ground up with health, temperament, intelligence, structure, and versatility in mind—but above all, our dogs are family.
Through decades of breeding, training, showing, and sharing our lives with these dogs, that philosophy has never changed. Paw’s Inn dogs have succeeded in conformation, obedience, agility, working and performance activities, while many others have gone on to the equally important role of beloved family companion. To us, both are something to be proud of.
Every breeding is thoughtfully planned, drawing on generations of experience with the breed. Dogs who are part of our breeding program are carefully evaluated and health tested, and our puppies are raised with love, care, and daily socialization. Our goal is not simply to produce beautiful White Shepherds, but healthy, confident, versatile and devoted dogs prepared for whatever life with their families may bring.
At Paw’s Inn, our dogs are family first and foremost. Whether standing proudly in the show ring, working alongside their owners, playing in the backyard, or curled up at the end of the day, we believe a Paw’s Inn dog should be able to do it all—and be loved doing it.
Where the Journey Began
1988 · The March Cluster
Rose attended her first dog show with Polar Bear at the March Cluster in March 1988, at the time one of the largest dog shows in the nation. It became an unexpectedly important moment in the story of Paw’s Inn.
While at the show, a photographer approached Rose about photographing Polar. Several images were taken of Rose and Polar together and of Polar on his own. Those photographs would later appear in several published books about German Shepherd Dogs, preserving an unexpected little piece of Paw’s Inn history.

Paw’s Inn’s Polar Bear
December 18, 1986 – January 6, 2000
Polar Bear was more than Rose’s first show dog—he became the foundation of Paw’s Inn and the beginning of a breeding program that would span generations. Polar earned his CD and participated in agility at a time when there were far fewer opportunities, titles, and health testing programs available than there are today. Years later, he was also recognized by the White Shepherd Genetics Project with a Longevity Award.
His influence, however, reached far beyond titles. From that first trip to the March Cluster in 1988 to the generations of Paw’s Inn dogs that followed, Polar represents where this story truly began.
